Einstein published the Special Theory of Relativity then worked to produce the General Theory over many years. This initial capability changed the world. He did not wait to fill out the theory. The original thesis is built on to start the construction.
But this also works in the area of technical advancement. Henry Ford built a car with what capabilities he had and used it to win a race and gain notoriety. Bloated bureaucracies are poor at this and that can include academia. As a Systems Engineering example the French can field an aircraft quicker and cheaper than the U.S. The world's largest organization the U.S. Army has a museum full of failed helicopter implementations in Alabama. A system or theory is unlikely to be perfect. It does however provide the opening context of greater capability.
The Comanche helicopter is one of my favorite examples of needless failed implementation. They had flying prototypes but kept pushing out a delivery of some unknown improved implementation. In the end the solider got nothing and the prototypes went to the museum. I worked for the Army Science Lab during this period and witnessed this disaster first hand. I was one of the suits in the U.S. pavilion at the Paris Air Show and watched the executive for the French Aviation Industry explain in French to his subordinate that we would fail to implement. He was right, later the plug was pulled and the aircraft abandoned.
With observations of the earth impact physics as shown on this web site my thesis of what happened may be wrong, however without a starting thesis you have nothing to build upon as earth non impact geology is incapable of explaining an impact event.
Expanding Earth Theory: new crust was created at spreading centres and destroyed along Benioff Zones. Japan’s Kiyoo Wadati had independently come up with exactly the same theory at the same time, and these subduction zones are now known as Wadati-Benioff Zones.
Ridiculed today they were in fact correct just lacked mechanism which plate tectonics provided however wrong. Both theories lack impact as a mechanism. While it is understood the planets are accretion bodies plate tectonics still hangs on. The idea that the earth has always been its present size and plates move convectively is wrong on the first supposition that the earth has always been its present size. You can get the same matching of continents by reducing the earth's size by half. Also the idea of crater subduction is a causal mechanism which is mimicked by the plate tectonics theory. I am the first to identify this as the real subduction. Earth impact accretion is a complete unified explanation theory whereas the plate tectonics theory does not have any impact theory accommodation as it was not recognized at the time. Otto Yulyevich Shmidt[a] (born Otto Friedrich Julius Schmidt; 30 September [O.S. 18 September] 1891 – 7 September 1956), better known as Otto Schmidt, was a Soviet scientist, mathematician, astronomer, geophysicist, statesman, and academician.
In the mid-1940s, Schmidt suggested a new cosmogonical hypothesis on the formation of the Earth and other planets of the Solar System, which he continued to develop together with a group of Soviet scientists until his death.
