While the earth impact accretion model is acknowledged for the Chicxulub impact and Mars has over a half million impact craters denial is what goes on regarding earth as an impact structure. Earth surface mineral diversity is a testament to impact accretion as such diversity from a tectonic process is a poor mechanism for that.
