Element Separation - The Impact Explosion acts as a refinery. Unlike a hydrogen bomb or refining furnace, the metal meteor itself is the source of the energy acting first on itself! Cobalt, iron, nickel, silica, etc. are separated by density in the blast and imparted in various blast streams. This results in specimens with these extracts. Unlike the Barringer Crater, this impact even hitting a sea with sand was highly explosive. At the Barringer Crater remnants of unaltered meteor were found. Cosmic speed can be very high, even twice the speed of the more recent Barringer Impact. It is likely the earlier impacts were larger and faster.
The above specimen from SW crater Lake Logan, TN is chert in a micro slag of gas and ores in the instant refinery of meteor explosion. Minerals close to the higher energy crater crater explosion areas are nano scale and minerals found as the distances increase are more globular.

Once limestone, now a metamorphic rock with fine grain micro pulverized shock density and tiny mineral inclusions. Sometimes only seen as dots. This specimen was found between Howell and Petersburg, TN. Notice how much finer the grain size of specimens as you close in on the impact center. While Howell, TN has an exposed breccia pipe and crude shatter coning these effects show less energy than the above and the highest energy effect relics are along the rivers outlining the inner crater walls i.e. the Elk and Richland Creek.
Farmington NM this specimen has iron and cobalt from space. Cobalt is also found in Hickman County, in Middle, TN. Which could be from the basin forming impact, Lewis County Impact or Frankewing, TN Impact. Middle, TN is a meteor crater debris field.

But lets take a look at the Michigan Crater I have identified by the karst shadow.
Now consider "Lake Copper." Copper produced from the Lake Superior ores in which the metal occurs native and is of high purity. It is of high purity because it was put there from a meteor explosion refinement process.

Now here is a specimen I found right here at Lake Logan, TN. It exhibits a less uniform light refraction property. Is so much going on in impact specimens. Energy stratigraphy is what I call accounting for the presence of evidence of energy events in rocks and strata.
