So what is Meteor Marbled Limestone? That is when a big meteor slams down into a muddy sea and mixes the high organic strata with the otherwise white forming strata. See the big gap below in the Fr. Payne Chattanooga Shale. That is when the Howell (Frenkewing) TN Impact occurred.
Verona, TN is about 6 miles north of Lewisburg, TN on state highway 272. It is a charming day trip. Meteor Marbled Limestone is just everywhere! Although this rock covers four counties it is best viewed at Verona. Stop in the Rock Creek Market and make yourself a ball park hot dog. Fish down at the dam. They even have a garden and nursery just north on 272 for public viewing. Of special note is the marbled meteor limestone impression disappears and crevasse ripped limestone begins between Verona and the Verona Caney Gardens.

It's not green cheese, but it might as well be.
The Dutch national museum said Thursday that one of its prized possessions, a rock supposedly brought back from the moon by U.S. astronauts, is just a piece of petrified wood.
Rijksmuseum spokeswoman Xandra van Gelder, who oversaw the investigation that proved the piece was a fake, said the museum will keep it anyway as a curiosity.
"It's a good story, with some questions that are still unanswered," she said. "We can laugh about it."
